JACL has 112 Chapters across the nation. Community service includes advocacy or assistance on civil rights and sponsoring of cultural, educational and recreational activities. Member benefits include membership in a credit union, group health insurance, group discounts, scholarships, etc. The SJ Chapter owns the Issei Memorial in SJ Japantown for community use.
