Volunteer for ALA Citizenship Day - Saturday, May 21
9:00am–5:00pm
Since 1998, Asian Law Alliance has partnered with allies to organize “Citizenship Day,” an annual event in which low-income immigrants receive help with citizenship applications and related fee waivers, free of charge. Applications are reviewed by licensed immigration attorneys and Department of Justice Accredited Representatives. Last year, Citizenship Day saved participating community members $130,610! As many as 1,500 legal permanent residents have received free assistance through Citizenship Day.
ALA welcomes attorney and non-attorney volunteers, including paralegals, translators, law students, high school students, and college students. All volunteers will need to attend one of two online trainings on April 22 or April 24 at 10 AM PST. To volunteer and receive the training link, please register using the link(s) above. Trained volunteers will assist community members on Saturday, May 21 and/or Saturday, June 4.
