Association of Farmworker Opportunity Programs (AFOP)

AFOP consists of all the nonprofit and public agencies that serve eligible migrant and seasonal farmworkers under the National Farmworker Jobs Program, a national job-training program. The 51 member agencies operate the program through grants awarded by the US Dept of Labor. Members serve agricultural workers in 49 states and Puerto Rico-only Alaska has no program. The CIPC is a project of the Asian Pacific American Legal Center of Southern California (APALC), Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA), National Immigration Law Center (NILC), and Services, Immigrant Rights, and Education Network (SIREN). CIWC works directly in the community as well as with policy makers in order to provide an integrated response to welfare law changes and to advocate for the rights of low-income immigrants.
