Though relatively small in number, NHPI was one of the fastest growing racial groups in California over the previous decade, growing 29% between 2000 and 2010. According to the 2010 Census, there were over 286,000 NHPI statewide. Census projections now put the population over 340,000. NHPI live in almost every county in the state, with the largest numbers living in Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento, Alameda, and Orange Counties. API
