In 2019, the Santa Clara County Office of Immigrant Relations (OIR) worked with the CA History Center & Foundation to create a timeline of immigration history in the US.
Immigration history in the U.S. is saturated with movements and practices that expand the definition of democracy and to apply that “all are created equal” to a broader community. On the banner and within this booklet, various forms of community resistance can be seen through the celebration of heritage months, the rise of the United Farm Workers (UFW), marches to defend immigrant rights, the creation of the Santa Clara County Rapid Response Network (SCC RRN), and so much more.
